The target audience is all service professionals who are involved in the Virginia Beginning Farmer and Rancher Coalition Program (VBFRCP), and those who would like to learn more about this state-wide and coalition-model Extension program.

The lead trainers are Kim Niewolny and Martha Walker, both from Virginia Cooperative Extension, plus several resource specialists from across the Virginia Beginning Farmer and Rancher Coalition.

These one day trainings will take place from 9 – 4 p.m. and are designed to assist you to:

  • Become familiar with and make use of VBFRCP resources, focusing on “whole farm planning” modules and online resources;
  • Develop skills and knowledge about specific teaching and learning approaches related to “whole farm planning” content areas;
  • Develop and implement program evaluations to ensure successful programing and reporting;
  • Build networking opportunities with new and established farmers through the VBFRCP Farm Mentor Network;
