Judy Fielder, programs support technician in the Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science, is the Employee of the Month for November.
Judy’s nominator wrote: “This nomination is based on a number of factors, including responsibilities well beyond Judy’s job assignments. Most recently, this has been exemplified by her willingness to take on tasks normally performed by the office manager. With the office being without a third staff member, Judy has done an extraordinary job of filling in on critical aspects of the job. She has taken on responsibility for personnel, student wages, graduate assistantships, and many other duties while still performing her own assigned responsibilities at a very busy time of the year. She has participated in a number of online training modules to make sure she is current in procedures and protocols, which demonstrates her commitment to professional development and job performance.
“Judy has cheerfully stepped up to the plate and has been a huge help to me, the office, and the department during some particularly difficult times. She is a great example of how one individual can influence the climate and morale of an entire group.”
