Mark your calendar for these upcoming meetings

VCE Specialist Meeting

An on-campus meeting for Extension specialists will be held on Nov. 26, 2012 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Fralin Auditorium. The meeting will be available through Adobe Connect and will be recorded and posted on the intranet for those who have scheduling conflicts.

The agenda will include, but not be limited to, topics such as the Secretary of Education study, position/staffing, Extension graphic identity, programmatic updates, and will provide more details than provided at the September 13 Dean’s Open Forum.

Please submit your Extension-related questions to Suzie Jackson by November 20 and note that this meeting will address Extension topics only.  Other will be asked to provide updates depending on your questions.

VCE Professional Development Conference

The VCE Professional Development Conference for faculty will be held January 29-31, 2013 at The Inn at Virginia Tech.  Online registration, workshop selection, and lodging requests will begin at the end of November.

Tuesday, January 29

  • Posters due for VCE Poster Competition Judging
  • Lunch on your own
  • VAAEA and VEAFCS silent auction set-up

8:30 – 9:30 pm

  • 4-H Programming Showcase
  • ESP Virginia Product Showcase

Wednesday, January 30

8 a.m. – noon and 1 – 2:30 p.m.

  • Core Competency Workshops

3 – 5 p.m.

  • Program Area/Subject Matter Workshops and Updates

5:15 – 6:30 p.m.

  • Professional Association Meetings
  • Tuesday evening – Dinner on your own

9 p.m.

  • Virginia Tech vs. Miami Men’s Basketball game (attend on your own)
