Earlier this month, Virginia Cooperative Extension launched a new website that shares information about its impact on the economic, environmental, and social well-being of Virginians and opens lines of communication with its stakeholders and clients.
The site, Shaping Extension’s Future (http://future.ext.vt.edu), is designed to complement the main Extension site by providing stories about Extension programs, regular messages from the director, answers to frequently asked questions, and the ability for stakeholders and clients to comment and ask questions. Visitors are encouraged to share their personal stories and ideas for shaping Extension’s future.
Additionally, the site features a news feed and links to VCE Twitter and Facebook accounts. The site has been featured in several news articles around the state, and website traffic reports are encouraging: They show that audiences are spending several minutes and reading multiples pages when they visit. The site’s word cloud, which reflects and auto-updates as topics are referenced, shows that the Environment and Food Science and Technology are the most popular topics to date.
Please consider submitting articles for the site; they can be original articles or links to stories that have been published through other channels. Articles or story ideas can be sent to Lori Greiner at email@example.com. The site will be updated at least once a week.
Also, share this site with your clients and stakeholders. Please add the URL to your email signature, promote it on your local websites and newsletters, and share it via social media. We want to get this information to as many people as possible.
