Meet with Dr. Tara Magdalinski from University College Dublin. She would like to talk about the possibility of an exchange as well as summer study abroad programs. Virginia Tech and UCD have an active student exchange agreement but it is specific to only Biosystems Engineering and Architecture. We are exploring the possibilities of expanding the agreement. She will also be meeting with students at 4:00pm in Wallace 328.

Global Education is collaborating with the Office of International Research, Education, and Development for an International Safe Zone 101 session and with Cook Counseling Center for a Mental Health First Aid session for faculty program leaders, bilateral exchange coordinators, college international liaisons and those involved in international education and/or student advising.
The curriculum for these sessions will be very resource-focused and scenario driven. We’d like your input as to whether you’d be interested in attending, which times are best suited, and what questions or concerns you may have.

The GEO will be holding the Fall Program Leader Pre-Departure Workshop focused on health, safety and risk management on Friday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., in the Graduate Life Center at Donaldson Brown, Meeting Room B.
All are welcome to attend, but the training event is designed specifically for those leading programs during the upcoming Winter, Spring, or Spring Break sessions. Please register by Thursday, December 4.
We will be having our first informational class meeting for the study abroad in Nepal planned for Nepal during the winter break (Dec. – Jan.) this Tuesday August 28 at 6:00 pm in 246a Smyth Hall. If you are interested in joining this study abroad course please attend as we will be presenting information about Nepal, and some of the planned itinerary and logistics associated with the course.
The course is designed form students in the College of Natural Resources, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, but if you have friends from other colleges that may be interested in the course, please bring them along.
