Please be advised that the eligibility restrictions have changed for the current round of the Global Education Scholarships. The deadline has also been extended.
Please note these changes: It is not necessary for students to have filed the FAFSA to be considered for this scholarship. Furthermore, the required credit minimum has been clarified as “full-time enrollment” rather than a specific number of credits; for semester programs, this means the applicant must enroll in at least the equivalent of 12 VT credits and for short-term faculty-led programs, students must be enrolled in the program’s full course load.
These need-based scholarships are available for participants in study abroad programs where tuition and fees are paid to Virginia Tech, including the VT Bilateral Exchange, ISEP Exchange, and faculty-led programs.
The scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of financial need (as understood from the student’s application statement and from the assessment of the Office of University Scholarships and Financial Aid), with consideration also given to the following:
- Academic merit
- Length of program (with preference given to semester or year)
- Program location (with preference given to study in locations outside Western Europe)
Questions may be directed to Bill Pruitt (email@example.com).
Apply here. The deadline is Tuesday, December 8th at 11:59pm.
