Student internships ‘open doors and raise ceilings’
A few days after his final exam in spring 2015, Samuel Elizondo of Monterrey, Mexico, a junior majoring in biological systems engineering, boarded a plane and headed to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to intern with the International Water Management Institute.
He used his engineering background to focus on data modeling, statistical interpretation of data, and project management for the institute. He also worked with farmers in the field to provide clean water systems.
