VT News: Six Fulbright grants awarded to Virginia Tech students and alumnae

From surveying rural households in India to assessing the impacts of ovarian cancer progression in Denmark, Virginia Tech students and alumnae will be contributing to communities around the world next year.

Six Virginia Tech recipients – four graduate students and two recent alumnae – have been awarded U.S. Fulbright Student Program grants. During the 2015-16 academic year, the recipients will conduct research, study, or teach abroad.

VT News: Program assists in post-earthquake recovery in Nepal

A Virginia Tech-led program working in Nepal has switched gears from development work to disaster relief after the recent earthquakes.

The agricultural development program provided seed to farmers for fast-growing vegetable crops and distributed plastic sheeting to meet people’s need for shelter. The sheeting can later be used to set up greenhouses.

VT Spotlight: Enrollment grows for Virginia Tech’s Special Sessions

The Office of Summer and Winter Sessions provides three opportunities to enhance and accelerate a student’s path to graduation: summer sessions, winter session, and summer academy.

Summer session features two, six-week semesters, and winter session spans three weeks between the fall and spring semesters. Both offer four types of courses: on-campus, online, blended on-campus and online, and study abroad.
