Scholarship funding is available for CALS students planning a Virginia Tech-sponsored study abroad experience for summer and fall 17. To receive a scholarship, students must be enrolled at Virginia Tech during time of travel.

Virginia Chapter AU of the P.E.O. Sisterhood is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships from the Jean B. Duerr Memorial Fund for women (undergraduate or graduate) who plan to attend, or are already enrolled in, an accredited college or university for the entire 2014-2015 academic year.
Awards of $2000 will be given to those applicants who best demonstrate academic achievement and community service. To be considered for an award an applicant must be a full time student and should have a minimum grade point average of 3.6. A full official transcript must be included with the application. College freshmen are required to also include their high school transcripts. Transfer students must include transcripts from prior colleges attended. Please note that it takes the registrar five to ten days to send transcripts; plan accordingly. Transcripts may be sent separately but must meet the same deadline as the application. Applications without transcripts will not be considered.

Applications must be postmarked by February 17, 2014 for Scholarships awarded for the 2014/2015 academic year. Please note that no applications, including those with February 17, 2014 postmarks, will be accepted after February 22, 2014. Scholarships will be awarded in late April. The application consists of three pages. Information and application forms may be copied as needed. Please note that the U.S. Postal Service should be used when sending the completed applications. Please do not send items via registered mail. Private carriers do not deliver to Post Office boxes. To be considered for college-level and departmental scholarships, students must submit the scholarship application by the March 1, 2014 deadline.
In addition, students who wish to be considered for college and departmental scholarships are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A majority of the college and departmental scholarships are based on financial need, and only students with documented financial need will be considered for those scholarships. The 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available after January 1, 2014. Finishing your classes in the Summer but would like to walk in Spring Commencement? You have until Friday to fill out the “Request to Walk” form, which will add you to the list of graduates and allow you to participate in commencement.
Just fill it out, get your advisor’s signature, and turn it in to 1060 Litton-Reaves by 5pm Friday, April 26.
