Cultural immersion through food, culture, and agriculture: 1st summer session May 22-June 6, 2019
The core of this unique experience is a two-week trip to Thailand that explores food, culture, and agriculture across several ecological regions of Thailand. While in Thailand, we will visit cultural and historical sites, universities, and most importantly, we will learn about local food, cook with the locals and experience their “food culture”. Furthermore, through the service learning experiences, we will explore the contributions from smallholder farmers to food security, as they are the majority and at the forefront in terms of food production and agriculture.
